This early-1960s Omega Constellation pairs the sculptural 168.005 case with a twelve-sided dial, Omega Calibre 561 automatic chronometer movement and date display. Its gold-capped case, stainless-steel caseback and black leather strap give it a warm mid-century presence.
Why It’s Special
The 168.005 is one of the defining mid-century Constellations, pairing Omega’s Calibre 561 chronometer movement with the sharply faceted dog-leg case and recognisable twelve-sided dial format.
Condition
The dial shows warm vintage patina around the outer track and dial facets, while the applied markers and Constellation script remain presentable. The gold-capped case has visible age-related scratches and wear around the lugs and case sides. The stainless-steel caseback and observatory medallion show surface wear. It is fitted to an aftermarket black leather strap with a gold-tone buckle.
Performance
Recently tested on timegrapher at +15 seconds per day. As with any vintage watch, this is a single snapshot rather than a service record.
