This late-1990s Cartier Tank pairs the larger LM proportion with the enduringly graphic Tank profile: an ivory Roman-numeral dial, blued hands and blue cabochon crown. Rendered in gold vermeil over sterling silver, it offers a more substantial, highly wearable take on one of Cartier’s most recognisable designs.
Why It’s Special
The Must de Cartier line introduced the Tank to a wider late-20th-century audience through a sterling-silver case finished in gold vermeil, lacquered Roman-numeral dial and the model’s defining cabochon crown. In LM sizing, it carries a more substantial and versatile presence while remaining unmistakably Cartier.
Condition
The evenly cream-toned dial presents well in the supplied photographs, with no obvious major cracking visible. The vermeil case shows honest age and use: hairlines, edge wear and darkening/brassing are visible around the brancards, lugs and caseback edges. The brown crocodile-pattern strap is heavily worn and creased; it is supplied as photographed and should be regarded as a worn accessory. Caseback engravings are visible in the images.
Performance
Battery changed in-house on 12 August 2026. Quartz movement running correctly.
