This Cartier Santos Ronde, reference 8191, is a quartz Santos from 1990–1991. The round case, Roman-numeral dial, blued hands and cabochon-set crown present Cartier’s familiar jewellery-watch codes in a softer, circular format.

The Santos name began with Cartier’s landmark 1904 design for aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont, yet the collection has always accommodated different case forms. The Santos Ronde shows how Cartier carried the established dial and crown vocabulary into the compact neo-vintage era, offering a distinctly dress-led alternative to the square and Galbée Santos forms.
Condition
Clean vintage condition. The white lacquer dial is bright with sharp Roman numerals and matching blued hands. The solid 18K yellow-gold bezel shows light circular wear from regular use. The stainless-steel mid-case and two-tone bracelet present hairlines and mild stretch typical for this model, while screw-heads remain well defined. The sapphire cabochon crown is intact with no cracks.
