A late-1980s Cartier Panthère Vendôme SM in stainless steel and yellow gold, powered by Cartier’s quartz movement. Combining the soft, rounded Vendôme case with the iconic Panthère bracelet, this reference offers a refined, jewellery-inspired take on Cartier’s classic design language. Compact, elegant, and highly wearable.
Why It’s Special
The Panthère Vendôme blends two of Cartier’s most recognisable elements — the fluid Panthère bracelet and the softer Vendôme case profile — resulting in a piece that wears as much like jewellery as it does a watch. The two-tone “Or et Acier” finish adds versatility, while the compact SM size enhances its understated elegance. A distinctive and less commonly seen Cartier configuration.
Condition
Dial appears clean and original with a soft ivory tone, crisp printed Roman numerals, and intact minute track. No visible spotting or moisture damage under normal viewing. Blued steel hands are correct and retain strong colour. Sapphire crystal presents clean with only light surface wear. Stainless steel and yellow-gold case shows light surface scratches consistent with age, with minor softening to edges but no major dents or signs of aggressive polishing. Gold bezel retains a strong tone with light wear to high-contact areas. Case-back engravings remain clear and well defined. Blue cabochon crown is intact. Original Cartier two-tone Panthère bracelet presents well with light stretch consistent with age and remains comfortable on wrist (fits approximately 15.7 cm). Clasp functions correctly.
Performance: Quartz movement running correctly.
